The Hollow

Deep in the woods is a small hollow. In this quiet place, sheltered by surrounding hills and dense wood, the forest stewards assemble the dead trees into pyres. While baby trees, parent trees, and grandparent trees look on through the centuries, here in the Hollow, a dead tree is consecrated – mourned, remembered, and released back to the earth.
